Winding down the weekend

After a pretty crazy week and then a really awesome long weekend it was time to get ready for the comings and goings of friends old and new and with that the TMD family got down and had a jam with our friends from overseas.

I went and grabbed some shots and also excercised the newest member of my family, Echo. Made some new friends and said goodbye to a couple of others. Great weekend and a primer for the upcoming Primary Flight event in Miami.

GO TMD!

South Side Gig

What to do on a sunny Saturday afternoon? I know, I'll head along to the Mangere Arts Centre and watch writers from all over the city team up and compete in a two on two battle themed around "past, present and future".

Crews represented included TMD, FDKNS, RFC, GBAK, FTC and RTR and every single one of them were under the critical eyes of JAES, REVOK and RIME.

I hung around and took in the entertainment provided by DJ Sirvere, David Dallas, PNC and Dei Hamo (missed J Williams) and there were also B Boy battle going on so it was a nice mix of HipHop and local sensibilities. Mangere Town centre also provided the ecclectic mix of locals in all their splendid colours. Where else but in South Auckland would someone rock Dickie shorts, Croc knock-offs and socks :)

The eventual winner of the event was a tie between the team of HAS & PHAT1 and BERST & DEUS - but at the end of the day spraypaint was the winner (I can attest to this as my gear is covered in spots).

Shot outs to ASKEW for getting this together and also to Manukau Festival of Arts for letting the guys loose on the world.

This blog entry is also a re-introduction of my watermark as it's something I was meant to do ages ago but only just got around to creating the Photoshop action for.

GO THE WATERMARK!
